I am a registered architect & licensed residential builder with two decades of experience.
Architecture has been a lifelong calling and I’ve been drawing as far back as I can remember. From an early age I was building ‘forts’ along the creek by my house. While the complexity of projects has increased since then my passion for designing and building has remained a constant throughout my life.
In 2010 I earned a Master of Architecture with distinction from Lawrence Technological University.
During my education I worked full-time in construction; first as a laborer for a residential builder, then at Stucky Vitale Architects (SVA) where I completed a broad range of projects and remained after graduation.
In 2014 I accepted the position of project architect at The Architectural Group (TAG), further expanding my knowledge base and also allowing us to move our family back ‘home’ to West Michigan.
In 2021 I stepped away from TAG to open Josh Saxbee Architect, PLLC to better serve my clients.
I volunteer regularly at Habitat for Humanity and a portion of what the business earns also supports the organization.
I serve on Hudsonville’s Zoning Board of Appeals and as a contributor for our Library’s Local History Room.
When not designing or building I enjoy quality time with my wife and children and experiencing outdoors. Ask me about: trips on my vintage motorcycle, open water swimming, mountain biking or hiking.
